Google e-mail tags/labels con't......Once u have tagged, click archive button at the top  and the e-mail will be archived for future retrieval.  Get your free genealogy question ready for tomorrow is Free Friday.   One genealogy question and I'll answer right here on my blog for free.    cg

Google Tags/labels con't......When u want to keep an incoming/outgoing email u will want to label or tag it.   You can put several labels on it so you can retrieve fast.
How to label/tag:
1..open the email in google
2..click the label button above the email
3..select a label u already created or create a new label
4..if u r creating a new label, a new label box will pop up
5..type label and click ok

As u add labels, they appear alphabetically in the column to the left.  cg

U now have ur gmail email account all set up...yea! U start getting sending and receiving emails and u want to keep some of them. Google works with tags and labels. No more one named folders. Tune in tomorrow for more on how to use tags and labels n email. Cg

Hello everyone!   I want to continue with Google searches.  Steps to more productive genealogy google searches!  Setting up google alerts:  If you cant find what you're looking for, a smart idea would be to set up a google search.  How?  1-  Set up a google email account.   They are free and you can set one up in addition to your own personal email account.  You can go to www.google.com/mail.    cg

Google Thoughts:     REMEMBER:  If you find a great website, don't leave until u do 2 more searches:  RELATE TO:  SEARCH and LINK: SEARCH.   These searches may reveal other great sites.   cg
