Genealogy (Love of the Hunt)
Happy Tuesday! What did you do exciting over the weekend? Did you go visit your relatives? Take some pictures of tombstones? I would love to hear how you are progressing with your hunt. Lets move on to Label Color when you save your email for easy retrieval. To the left of your emails will be your labels. Click on the label you want to COLOR CODE and you will see next to it an arrow. Click on it and a box will pop up that shows what colors you can use. Also give you other options such as renaming, adding a sub label. Stay tune for tomorrow we talk more on the Power of Google for Genealogists. cg

Now that the 1940 census is out and everyone is working hard indexing, lets move on to learning about Google and how it can help with your genealogy research. Last time we talked about labeling and archiving emails. Lets retrieve the email. Click on the labels on your left that you tagged your email with and the emails with that tag will appear in a list. Remember, tomorrow is Free Genealogy Question Friday. cg

Genealogy (Love of the Hunt)
Today is Wednesday and I have been busy indexing, indexing, indexing. Have you found someone of interest in the 1940's census yet? Are you helping out too? Familysearch.org needs lots of volunteers. The sooner your state gets index, the sooner you can stop looking for them by district. Happy Hunting :) cg

Genealogy (Love of the Hunt)
Morning, more on the 1940 census. Ancestry.com has all states downloaded for you to search by enumeration district (this means u need to know where they lived). To find out where they lived or their district you can check in the 1930 census, city directories, 1940 was not that far away, ask mom or dad. Ancestry has also indexed two states so you can search by name ie. Delaware, Nevada, and District of Columbia is in process. Familysearch.org is not far behind. They have all volunteers indexing. Tidbits: the x by a person's name means they gave the information to the enumerator. Have you tried to get an answer about the 1940 census, but haven't been able to get thru? Tomorrow is free genealogy question Friday. I am sure we all have questions. cg
